TMC MP and former World Cup winner Kirti Azad announced the passing of his wife, Poonam Jha Azad, on September 1. Poonam passed away on Monday at 12:40 PM, as confirmed by Azad in a heartfelt post on social media platform X.
West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee expressed her condolences, sharing that she had known Poonam for a long time and was aware of her prolonged illness.
"Kirti and other family members tried their best and were always beside her in her last fight," Mamata Banerjee stated, offering her support to the grieving family.
Poonam Jha Azad had been battling a critical illness for several years, and her passing marks a significant loss for the Azad family and their close associates.
